I admit I have some problems with this. On one hand, I've seen and know that a person can committ an act or two of criminality and recover. But I've also seen people who have a constant signal, not a blip on the radar, over decades of unrepentantly destructive behavior towards the world around them. Some people just have no conscience, no moral compass at all - (hi Trump!) - and remain so to their death. Maybe it's best to just take each person and be wise, because the people around them have rights too. The right to not be harmed by them if at all possible. To not be victimized. So don't vote for them :P
