Venerable Cunda | Meditation, Calm Thoughts | The Armadale Meditation Group
Thursday Feb 13, 2020
Thursday Feb 13, 2020
This is Venerable Cunda's second visit this year to the Armadale Meditation Group. Venerable spoke tonight of our modern world, our busy lives and our constant contact with technology. The result of such activity is a monkey mind. We need to relax more, meditation is a very good way to do just that and let our busy lives go, if only for a brief period.
Venerable lead the group in a 30 minute meditation. Venerable likes to commence his meditation with a body sweep commencing with the face and working to the feet. Venerable reminds us to use our bodies as an anchor for our focus. This meditation is well suited to both experienced and new meditators alike.
After meditation, Venerable encouraged us to sit quietly for a few moments and carry the relaxed mind and boby as long as we could. Venerable then opened briefly to questions.

Venerable Cunda | A Calm Peaceful Mind | The Armadale Meditation Group
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Our first Monk of the year 2020 was Venerable Cunda. Venerable has been living in Victoria for just over a year now helping to establish the Buddhist Society of Victoria Monastery at Newbury. As we all do, we work hard and then search for ways to unwind, clear our minds and just relax. Venerable encourages us to firstly relax our bodies as much as we are able, this will allow us to relax our mind.
Venerable lead the group in a longer than usual meditation commencing with a body sweep and moving gently to our breathing. Throughout the meditation Venerable asks us to use our bodies as an anchor, so that when random thoughts arise, we can return to the moment. This meditation is well suited to both experienced and new meditators alike.
After meditation, Venerable described his early meditation experience and difficulties to help us understand that we don't need to make it hard work. Venerable then opened to questions before continuing his talk about Newbury.

Venerable Cunda | A Peaceful Meditation - Just Relax - The Armadale Meditation Group
Wednesday Nov 21, 2018
Wednesday Nov 21, 2018
Venerable Cunda used his own life as an example of our habit of overloading ourselves with stress. Business, home life or in our working lives, we tend to allow the stress to build up and then overload. We need to find a time in our daily lives to peacefully meditate, leaving the stress behind.
Venerable Cunda leads the group through a peaceful meditation starting with a body scan. The meditation then progresses to the breath with long peaceful silences. The simple but relaxing meditation is well suited to both beginners and experienced alike.
After meditation Venerable expanded on the benefits of meditation - we are more relaxed, more calm and physically relaxed when we meditate. Venerable then opened to Q&A.

Venerable Cunda | Take a Break - The Armadale Meditation Group
Wednesday Jun 13, 2018
Wednesday Jun 13, 2018
Venerable Cunda encouraged us to "give ourselves a break". We carry the responsibilities in our daily lives very heavily, from new parents to business, and it affects both our physical and mental health. Our life styles come with a cost. From rushing around in our cars to trying to relax, we over do it all. We need to give ourselves a break. Relax, let it all go and just live in this moment. Leave the past where it is and not focus on a possible future that may never happen.
Venerable Cunda led the group through a very relaxing body scan and breath meditation well suited to both beginners and experienced alike.
After meditation Venerable talked on the benefits of meditation. After we meditate we are more relaxed, more calm and physically relaxed. Venerable then opened to Q&A.

Monday Nov 27, 2017
Venerable Cunda lead us first through a guided meditation most suitable to those of us that need to relax both physically and mentally. The meditation was suitable for beginners and experienced alike. A body scan and simply relaxing as much as possible allows us to also relax the mind.
After the guided meditation Venerable introduced himself and gave an excellent dharma talk. He then encouraged us in our practice by relating why he became a Buddhist Monk, the impact it has had on both his health, life in general and all those around him.
Venerable then spoke on the five precepts and then opened the floor to Q&A.
